What is this trip all about?

Hello Reader. I wear many hats in my life so the "why" makes sense to me and eventually it will all come together. This trip will fulfill my librarian/research hat, my wellness education hat, and nourish my soul in the process. I'm going on this trip to:

  1. Location Research: for if and when I decide to teach a class in Edinburgh, Scotland. I planned to teach a class this April, but it didn't work out for various reasons. One of the biggest things was that I felt the universe was telling me to go and get to know the area so I could show my participants around the area with confidence. I also will get to see various places and spaces where I can teach and visit, plus meet guides that I planned to work with.

  2. Book Research: I am a 46-year-old woman who is entering the wisest time of her life, and I want to share my process of honoring the "Crone" archetype and Scotland holds a story that has intrigued me for years, being the old soul that I am - the treasured story of the "Cailleach" or "veiled one", the wise woman. For more information try these links: Earth Sanctuaries or Cailleach's Herbarium. As I feel her beautiful wiseness settling into my skin, muscles, and bones, I want to get to know her story. This parallels the misunderstood story of the "Witch" archetype as well in history. I will also be researching the Witch Burning times in Scotland's history, which took place from around the late 1500's to the early 1700's.

  1. Genealogy Research: I think in every family there are the memory keepers, and I am one of them in mine. I love learning about my lineage and ancestors for many reasons. I have the names of my Scottish ancestors and will be visiting archive locations, which may hold more information about them.

I leave next week, and I will try my very best to post every day!
